Services and information relating to faculty experience of the library and its resources

Accessing Research Materials

The library aims to offer collections and resources that meet all the needs of our faculty and their research programs. This is strengthened by our multiple partnerships that allow us to access materials beyond those held directly by Brown University Libraries. If you have any difficulty in locating a specific resource do not hesitate to contact your relevant subject librarian or the circulation department

Some specific services that we offer include:

  • E-delivery of journal articles from print and digital collections to your desktop within 48 hours. (Simply choose "scan" from your catalog search results.)
  • Delivery of library books to your department mail room or administrative office via Campus Mail, Monday through Friday, during regular office hours.
  • Provide digital repository services that provide long-term maintenance and support for data
  • Requests for purchases (either fill out the following form or speak directly with your relevant subject librarian
  • Deputy borrowing: Designate someone to pick up materials on your behalf.

Specialized Training

Research Consultations for Faculty

Library staff members, whether they are specialists in particular tools or have expertise in a particular discipline or specific library collections, are on call to work with our faculty in supporting their research activities through individual consultations. Such consultations might include:
