History of Science in Society

Ladd Observatory

Opened in 1891, Ladd Observatory has served as a public resource for timekeeping and weather data, as well as direct astronomical observation.  Weather permitting, it is open to the public on Tuesday evenings for stargazing.

For current tidbits on the history of astronomy, see the Ladd Observatory Blog.
