This guide offers instruction and information about this popular open source citation manager available to the Brown community.

What is Zotero? A Video Introduction

The following video (~4:30 minutes) provides an overview of Zotero for new and unfamiliar users, with an emphasis on highlighting and demonstrating some of the basic functions commonly used throughout the research process. Installation and set-up insights (as well as troubleshooting advice) can be found in the preceding sections of this guide.

Zotero Tutorials

The Library offers community members two options for self-guided, asynchronous tutorials, which can be completed, navigated through, and returned to at each user's leisure and discretion. The first tutorial will provide users with a granular overview of some of the basic functions addressed in the video, guided by step-by-step directions. The second tutorial will provide users with an interactive overview of the Zotero interface and is intended to call attention to the tool's layout, prominent features, icons, and buttons. Enjoy!
