Brown Votes: Brown Guide for Voting

This is a guide to voting for the Brown University community.

Be a Poll Worker

If you choose to register to vote in Rhode Island, you are eligible to serve as an election worker and staff the polls on election day! Because Brown University recognizes federal elections as university holidays, Brown students have the opportunity to meaningfully engage with the Providence community by staffing elections. After attending a mandatory training session, on election day poll workers work from 6:00 AM until their poll closes, and receive $225 as compensation for their labor. Working in collaboration with Brown Votes, the Providence Board of Canvassers will work to place Brown students at polling locations accessible to campus.
