This guide offers an overview of the evidence synthesis process and features practical advice and recommended resources. It does not replace essential methodological guidance to which it links, such as the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions or JBI Manual for Evidence Synthesis, but is intended to provide a grounding in the essential steps of an evidence synthesis project. While there are frequent references to systematic reviews throughout, the principles here apply to many types of evidence synthesis.
Health and Biomedical Library Services' Evidence Synthesis Service is available to faculty, staff, and other researchers affiliated with Brown University (including residents, fellows, and clinical faculty of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University). We can collaborate with you in a variety of ways as you pursue an evidence synthesis project. Visit our ESS guide to learn more about eligibility and tiers of service.
