Library Resources and Services for Faculty

Workshops, Instruction, and Student Consultations

In-class sessions or specialized workshops on general library research skills or topics and resources suited to the needs of a specific course. Workshops may be offered publicly or tailored to a specific course or group, and cover a wide range of topics including literature databases, citation management, GIS tools, and data management. Contact your subject librarian to make arrangements or use this form to request a workshop.

Students benefit from one-on-one consultations for their research projects and assignments. Please encourage your TAs and students to meet with subject librarians to develop skills in the following areas:

  • Developing search strategies and finding research materials
  • Differentiating among information sources
  • Using specialized research tools (e.g. data sets, GIS, statistical packages, citation managers)
  • Assistance with special collections, manuscripts, and archives
