The John Hay Library has strong holdings in for the History of Science, distributed among several named collections as well as the general Hay History of Science collection.  Particular strengths of our holdings lie in the fields of mathematics, astronomy, natural history and medicine. Researchers will find the largest cache of research material in the following collections:

   One of the particular strengths of the Lownes Collection at the John Hay Library lies in the area of ornithology, particularly works by John James Audubon, of whom Albert Lownes was a great admirer.  The History of Science Collections at the Hay Library capture research in ornithology around the world and across the centuries.  Most of these works can be identified in the Library Catalog using BruKnow.  Listed in this box are a few related resources.
