iThenticate

Introduction

Brown University is piloting access to iThenticate, a useful tool in the writing and publishing process, for use by faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and some graduate students. Using iThenticate prior to submitting your own manuscripts, grant applications, and scholarly documents to journals, publishers, funding agencies, and academic repositories will help you to ensure that you are following proper citation and attribution practices. While iThenticate is not meant to be used to check other people’s writing for plagiarism, it can be used to demonstrate appropriate use of citations to students.
