DynaMedPlus - EBSCO Health

DynaMed Plus is updated daily and provides point-of-care, evidence-based clinical topic summaries. Editors monitor the content of over 500 medical journals on a daily basis. Each article is evaluated for clinical relevance and scientific validity. The new evidence is then integrated with existing content, and overall conclusions are changed as appropriate, representing a synthesis of the best available evidence.

  • Availability: DynaMed Plus is available to all Brown University students, staff, residents, and faculty. 
  • Evidence-Based Content: DynaMed Plus includes easy-to-interpret levels of evidence labels, so users can quickly determine the quality of the evidence.
  • Access Everywhere: DynaMed Plus can be accessed anywhere online and from a mobile device.
  • Recent Updates: Newly added evidence can be viewed right from the home page, and updates can be filtered by specialty.
  • Easy-to-Find Information: DynaMed Plus is designed so that users can quickly find answers to clinical questions. Topics include an Overview and Recommendation section for high-level review, and the table of contents helps users take a deeper dive into the evidence.

Remote access to DynaMed Plus

DynaMed Plus is available for remote access via mobile app or browser-based login. The app and account require annual reauthentication via Brown. 

To access DynaMed Plus on your mobile device:

  1. Connect to DynaMed Plus via any link from the Brown University Library.​
  2. Click on the "Get the DynaMed Plus Mobile App" link at the left
  3. Fill out the required information. You do not need to use your Brown email address for the account.
  4. Check your email for confirmation, and follow the link to download the app and use the authentication key.

If you do not wish to download the app, you can also create and use a DMP account for easy remote access. 

  1. Connect to DynaMed Plus via any link from the Brown University Library.​
  2. Follow the link at top right to "Sign in/Create an account"
  3. Enter the required information and check your email for confirmation and to set your password.
  4. Once your account is created, you can use it to log in to from any browser. You can also customize your account to get quick access to practice-changing updates in your field.
UpToDate is no longer available through the Brown University Library as of July 31, 2018. Medical students and clinical faculty with hospital privileges will be able to access UtD via the appropriate hospital intranet. More information is available at "Change in Access to UpToDate."
