BruKnow: The Brown Library Catalog

This guide will give you an introduction to BruKnow and answer some common questions about the system.

Search Results Options

Once you've found an item that you want to use, you have a number of options besides checking it out. You can export your title, email it, print it, obtain a permalink so that you can easily share it, or get a suggested citation format.

Saving an individual item record

You can also save an individual item. In BruKnow, our previous catalog, this would have been called a Bookmark. In BruKnow, it is known as a Pin. You can pin an item simply by clicking on the icon of a pushpin that you will see at the top of the record. It will remain in your account until you unpin it. You must be logged in to pin items.

Saving a Search

You can save your entire search to run again in the future. Simply click on the Save Query pushpin icon at the top of the list of results. In addition, you can set an alert to notify you when new items come into the library that match your search. You'll be offered the chance to save an alert when you save the search or you can choose to do so from your personal library account.
