Data Management Services and Tools

Andrew Creamer, Open Science Librarian, assists researchers with writing data management and sharing plans and depositing research data in open access repositories.

Data Management and Sharing (Guide)
This guide provides current resources available to the Brown University community for management, and, when appropriate, sharing of research data as required by research funders and scholarly journals.
LabArchives@Brown
LabArchives@Brown is a cloud-based electronic lab notebook maintained by LabArchives that can be used by researchers, instructors, and students for input and organization of laboratory data, information sharing, and collaboration.

Evidence Synthesis

BUL Literature Review Service (Guide)
Evidence Synthesis Service (Request Support)
Faculty, staff, students, and researchers affiliated with Brown University (including residents, fellows, and clinical faculty of the Warren Alpert Medical School) undertaking literature review and evidence synthesis projects in the health and medical sciences are eligible to use this service. Librarians can assist at a consultation level, or collaboratively as a team member to generate comprehensive expert searches documented in compliance with appropriate reporting standards such as PRISMA and PRISMA-S.

Public Access Compliance

Contact public_access@brown.edu for help or questions about complying with public access policies. We can also help troubleshoot issues with MyBibliography, NIHMS, PubMed Central, or paper licensing questions.

Research Impact Assessment

Research Impact (Guide)
This guide reviews tools for finding and evaluating bibliometric research impact, as well as contextual information for understanding how to interpret and use bibliometric indicators.
Research Impact Services (Request Support)
HBLS Librarians can create custom bibliographies and impact reports for the Brown University community. Please note that reports may take up to two weeks to complete, depending on the complexity of the request and staff capacity.
