Collections at Brown

The Virginia Baldwin Orwig Music Library houses Brown's general collections in music.  Located in the Orwig Music Building, the music library has books, scores, sound recordings, and video recordings, as well as two reading rooms for general use.

There are also several special collections at the John Hay Library that include musical content.  The Sheet Music Collection, with approximately 500,000 pieces of mostly American sheet music, is the most substantial of these collections, and the Phonorecords and Broadsides Collections may also be of interest to music scholars.  Please contact the Hay Library for more information about holdings, access, and reproductions.
