Digital Repository Services

The Brown University Library manages the Brown Digital Repository (BDR) which offers faculty many services for publication and preservation of their research output. Increasingly funded research requires open access and the BDR works directly with faculty to ensure compliance with such mandates. Additionally, the BDR can house pre-publications, archives, and other digitized and born digital research materials.

Where and How best to Publish?

  • A major question often faced by faculty researcher regards what journals or publishers are best suited for disseminating their work. For those scholars where peer-reviewed articles are the gold standard on major tool for investigating the impact of a particular journal is Journal Citation Reports Online (JCR Online). Please do not hesitate to contact the library for support in making use of this tool.
  • Many researchers increasingly take advantage of social media and other online realms (including their VIVO profiles). The library is available to consult with you on how to best manage your online research persona.
  • Publishing and citing data is another area where library staff have expertise and can assist you.
