Alma Jobs


Alma's Jobs can be used to make global changes to record sets.
  1. Navigate to Admin > Manage Jobs and Set > Run a Job
  2. Select the job you would like to run
    • Use the provided search box to search by description or name for specific jobs
    • Use Content type dropdown to select jobs that only work on your set type
  3. Select the set you would like to change
    • requires the set match the job types. For example, you cannot use an 'All titles' set for 'Withdraw Physical items'
  4. Set any parameters specific to the job function
  5. Run

To Create a new Alma job, you can write a normalization rule in Metadata Editor. Once you have a Norm Rule written and saved to the Shared Folder, you can set up a process for it in Alma Configuration

  1. Navigate to Metadata Configuration in the Alma Configuration Menu
    • Resources > Cataloging > Metadata Configuration
  2. Select the "MARC21 Biblographic" Profile
  3. Select the Normalization Processes Tab
  4. Select Add a Process
    • Add a Name and Description then select Next
    • Add Tasks then select Next
      1. Select "Marc Drool Normalization" then select "Add and Close"
    • Select the Normalization Rule you wish to make a job in the drop down menu, then save
  5. Your Normalization rule will now appear as a job in Alma.
