Move Orders between Bibs

  1. Search Alma to locate the records you need to relink. Assuming the bib with the order attached will be deleted. The order record needs to be reattached to another bib that will be kept.
  2. From the record (shown below the first record that has an order attached, open the order record by clicking the number “1” next to the green Order icon.

  3. The order record snapshot will display. Click ‘Change Bib Reference’. This may be next to the view button, or under the ‘...’ option as shown below. If an order is closed, you will have to reopen the order before the option to move the order will appear.

  4. Select ‘Confirm’ when asked if you are sure you wish to do this.

  5. A new search window will pop up. Adjust your search conditions as needed to locate the target bib record where the order record should be relinked to (using MMS ID will be easier). When you have found the correct bib, click on it to select it.

  6. If done right, you will see the following screen with a message confirming the order record has been successfully relinked to the desired bib record.

  7. The order record should now be on the selected bib. Use your judgement and decide if the original bib should be deleted or kept.
